BERRY-BANANA LAYERED YOGURT WITH STICKY GLAZED PECANS AND OATS

Choose your time of day. I've eaten this as a low-sugar dessert in the morning and well after dark. The maple glaze clinging to the pecans and oats makes for a sticky-crisp, almost candy-like texture to the creamy Greek yogurt spiked with cinnamon and layered with berries and bananas. Kids love it too, which, of course, makes it a double-win.

Notes: Yogurt is FAGE' 2% Greek yogurt.

BERRY-BANANA LAYERED YOGURT WITH STICKY GLAZED PECANS AND OATS

Ingredients: 3/4 cup Greek yogurt, five sliced strawberries, one sliced small banana, 1/3 cup broken pecans, 1/4 cup rolled oats, 2 tbsp. maple syrup, 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, and a pinch of sea salt.

Makes 1.

1. Add the chopped pecans and oats to a dry skillet over medium-low heat with a pinch of sea salt. Cook, occasionally stirring, until toasted and fragrant, about 5 minutes. Add the maple syrup and cook until slightly sticky (another 5 minutes). Remove from heat to cool.

2. Stir the cinnamon into the yogurt in a bowl, then dollop some into the bottom of a glass or mug. Add a few strawberries and banana slices, followed by a bit of sticky glazed pecans and oats. Repeat the layering as necessary. Eat immediately or chill until serving.
